I think I would go for Betty Rubble out of the lot. You just KNOW she's not getting taken care of at home by that sawed-off midget. She is ready to explode under that little dress. I guaranfuckintee it.
 
Lord gawd, that was awful. Just awful. I feel good about going at least another couple decades without watching Saturday Night Live again.

Terrible. I can't believe how bad that was. They can't find a single writer for the show?

So heavy handed. No one at SNL has an imagination that goes beyond, OMG it will be funny to have an old person talk about sex stuff. No wit, no flair. It was like they just let the kids of the camera crew do the writing?

(And by the way, WTF is with this MacGruber? I have heard there is going to be a full length MacGruber movie. They did 3 fucking MacGruber skits in last night's show and I was completely sick of it after 2. A full length movie - are you kidding me?)


As for Bettie White, I dunno. I know she can be very charming but she just let herself be reduced to the commonest cliche. I'm surprised they didn't have an OMG-it-will-be-so-funny-to-put-the-old-person-on-a-motorcycle-playing-electric-guitar skit. (Or maybe they did. I didn't watch to the end.)

Did she really need to do that? Hopefully it was all about donating the money she earned to a good charity or something. There was no trace of dignity to it. Sad.

Hard to disagree with what you say about the writing and lack of creativity. Betty White was pretty damn good though, and she made the show worth watching.

I can't believe Bread called Barney Rubble a sawed off midget. What a dick.

It cracks me up that people have high expectations for SNL. The show has never been good, in my opinion, not even in the beginning (although it was a bit more honest back then). It is what it is...an overly produced sketch show, limiting creativity and improvisation. There are actually some very talented people on the show this season, but they weren't seen much this week due to bringing back five former female cast members. If they got rid of Lorne Michaels, who rules the studio with a Hitleresque fist, they would probably be able to produce a much better product.
 
I envision the writers' meeting.
