saddest/happiest places to live in the USA

This seems like one of the craziest lists I have seen in awhile...

my thoughts exactly, not sure about the criteria they used. can understand why those might be part of the equation for happy/sad, but certainly not the best or only three criteria. i've been places where very few people had any real employment, and they weren't sad at all.

i'd also like to see the list of 100 cities. was it the 100 most populated? plano is nothing but a suburb of dallas. was arlington, which has about 50% more population than plano, on the list? i know i wouldn't be happy in either locale since they're both just big-city traffic jams and messes.

also, how does one go about getting information about who is taking prescription medication? who provided that info to this magazine?

Oksy, isnt where u reside now supposed to be the most livable city in the world? I would say lucky u but been there too many times not to know otherwise

Good call FW. Very likely...I know those North Dakoter winters don't bring in a whole lot of happiness.

SD is a great place for corporations (low taxes) and no state income tax. I'm still not moving.

i wonder if you picked up the unhappy people and moved them some of these happy locales, would they be happy? like the great philosopher ernie banks said, "if you aren’t happy in one place, chances are you won’t be happy anyplace."
