I actually like Artest. He comes across well in the interviews I've seen. It's hard to knock a guy for wanting world peace.

I myself am not totally against the concept.

He gave due tribute to Ochocinco for inspiring the move.

Actually it was kind of funny. He talked about being impressed by the Ochocinco name change and wanting to make a similar gesture. And he talked about how it took this long to finally decide on his plan.

~4 years to come up with Metta World Peace.

As a math guy, I can report that that works out to ~16 months per word.
