I would stay with a "strange man's" house alone. But, there are plenty of women that only host women. I think most or all single guys are hoping that their female guest would be attracted to them and want to have sex. That doesn't mean the guy wouldn't be polite and good host. I thought most every guy is hoping to have sex with every girl, everywhere?

There's alot of hooking up going on at CS. In the "rules" it is very much frowned upon, but in reality, the joke is "Couchsurfing: it's not a dating site, it's a f@cking site". Who wouldn't? The site is riddled with open minded, gypsies who are mostly young and attractive. If both parties are willing, it seems like a no brainer.

There's a monitoring system that weeds out people with bad intentions, and surprisingly, there aren't many. I have ambassador status (that's right, super cool) so I can see the disputes section and the creepos are widely reported negatively. Every city has people on the emergency couch list for situations that could arise. For instance if I feel uncomfortable, I can go on the site and call the ambassador for that town, or others that have volunteered and someone will most likely come and get me and another place to stay will be arranged.

Just to clarify two things:

1) What I meant was that all guys want to have sex with girls. Not that guys sign up for CS in hopes of getting laid. In my anecdotal experience guys do everything in the hopes that secondarily somehow it will turn out that they will get laid.

We will be back in about four hours. We are just stopping at a rest area to continue on with a sunset badminton game. I've finally found a game that I'm equally matched with Mr. X.
