we always broke the knob on our floor model tv and had to use plyers to change the channel

it always got lost

we were ready for the anguish of not being able to find your tv remote for more than 3 mins. ahead of our time.

On an unrelated note about old stuff-

I bought an old children's book at a yard sale today. It looked like something that might be something. It was $2.00. I get home and am finding it listed on the net anywhere from $30 up to $590.00. Average was about $90. I would be happy just selling for $30 if I can get it. Think I should just take to a local bookseller or mess with it online?

Anyone remember these?

Yeah I had a GE alarm clock that had the same fake wood paneling. Solid device, I listened to a lot of Expos baseball and late-night Canadiens games with it.

Back to those remotes, when your cable provider changed the channel lineup they would mail you a new overlay that you stuck on top of the old one, so that each button would be labeled correctly.

Good times.
