Don't understand BYU -8.5 line.....yes they had a clunker against New Mexico recently, but the MWC is a great conference, 6th best on KenPom ahead of the SEC, and Jimmer will go off of course
Similarly, I think Kentucky -13 is solid. Last year they curb stomped an Ivy League team in their own backyard up in NY. Down in Tampa it will be all blue as Kentucky has the best neutral court fanbase in the nation. They turn neutral courts into a semi-home court advantage. Kentucky's ankles are all healed up, and as we saw in the SEC Tournament, even in a 20 point game late the starters stay on the floor because we don't have anyone to put in the game until 1 minute left where they will empty the bench.
I used KenPom's log5 odds to make my brackets. Made 2 brackets, and used the highest percentages to advance in them. Basically I pick 3 teams per region to advance to an elite 8, then other than Ohio State, I have two final four picks from each region and I alternate them.
Ohio State, Duke, SD State, Kansas, Purdue, Pitt, and BYU qualify as Final Four picks. Both of my championship games feature 1 vs 1, with Duke and Ohio State as my champs.
13 of the 32 first round games qualify as "1 possession" games per the market (lines of 3 points or less)....should be a good first round.
