Right before I woke up this morning I dreamt I was sitting at a table with actor Sam Elliott. Sam Elliott has had a number of different looks in his career. This is more-or-less how he looked in the dream.
Anyway, although it didn't actually happen in the dream, it was understood that I had just made myself a sandwich. Sam Elliott and I exchanged glances and we both knew I had just made myself a sandwich and, although I didn't really want to, I asked if he would like me to make him a sandwich.
He said yes.
Damn. I hoped he would pass but I hid my disappointment and started making him a sandwich the same way I make my own sandwiches. I sliced a kaiser in half and start smearing margarine on it. But suddenly I realized that may not be right for him so I asked, "Is margarine alright?"
He said he really prefers butter. His tone and body language indicated he was very glad to have that cleared up. He really didn't want the margarine. Butter was a strong preference.
Damn. So I had to get up and go to the kitchen counter. There was a wide flat slab of butter there. Also there was some lasagna so I put some of that on the plate. I really don't know how to prepare food for other people and so I started kind of smearing the tomato sauce around. In my heart, I wanted this to be good for Sam Elliott but I am clueless how to go about it and I pushed the lasagna back and forth for a while feeling more and more panicky about how I was going to pull this off.
At that point, my alarm clock woke me up.
It is a very rare thing for me to be glad about my alarm clock going off - especially on a Monday morning - but I did in this case.
I was relieved to be off the hook for Sam Elliott's lunch.
That is all.
LOL. Close. A cocktail waitress asked me.
you ever taken any of em out?
Muddy did you watch Midnight in Paris? Interested to hear what you think of it.
Muddy, nice vivid dream! I bet you it seems so real it's scary! He has visited others also!
I've taken two of them out, but I tend to stay away. Most of them are self-indulged golddiggers. Comes with the territory I guess. A decent looking cocktail waitress gets hit on non-stop everyday. For a lot of girls, it gets in their head. Not all of them but enough.
Haven't seen it. I have heard quite a few comments and it is probably the most interested I have been in a Woody Allen movie in a long time.
But that's not saying much.
It's possible that time and opportunity may find me viewing it at some point in the future but it does not seem imminent.
He did some stuff in the 70's I appreciated but since then, Woody Allen is a lot like tattoos for me. The very best of him is still no good at all.
