Just thought I would lob that out there in case anyone is in the market for some preachy, pretentious, mumbo jumbo from the band Yes.

I actually used to like them quite a bit. Saw them live 3-4 times way back when. Very entertaining shows.

Hard to think of a band that was a greater collection of instrumentalists - ever.

That lyric is from Owner of a Lonely Heart which was probably their biggest commercial hit. I never liked it much. All their best stuff was before that.

But they were always preachy and pretentious and predisposed to mumbo jumbo. No denying it.

Thanks MC. I was just thinking I don't have enough preachy, pretentious, mumbo jumbo in my life. Actually you did me a great service. I never knew what they were saying there. I think I thought it was "if you" something something" Hang on."

Well there are many famous ones. Elton John's Hold me Closer Tony Danza.

One that cracked me up when it was pointed out to me was in the theme from Titanic. If you listen to the second chorus - not the first, just the second - it sounds exactly like Celine Dion is singing

Near, far
Wherever you are
I believe that the hot dogs go on

When I was a wee lad there was this French-language radio show dedicated to auditory hallucinations. They happen a lot in anglo songs.

A classic one happens in Foreigner's "I want to know what love is". The way the guy sings "I've traveled so far" sounds exactly like Un trs beau sofa (A really nice couch.)
