I went to my regular barbershop today and was surprised to be served by an Asian. The place is called Vince's and I have had probably 6 different haircutters - all appearing to be Italian or maybe Greek.

Today it was a Chinese guy.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sez, "What would you like?"

I sez, "A trim. Do I need to say more than that?"

He sez, "Nope. How bout I take off about 4 weeks?"

"Perfecto."

He sounded just like an Italian. Italian-speak coming out of his Chinese face. It was interesting. Put me right at ease.

Fine job he did too.

The white male barber is almost an extinct species in the US. I get black women to cut my hair. They are good.

I get my hair cut by an asian guy that just opened his own shop. I like his soft little hands on my scalp. I'm also very impressed with his knowledge of ways to get receding hair to grow back. I don't listen to him though and just get my head buzzed.

i went to someone different last week because my normal guy was booked an entire week and couldnt fucking squeeze one of his regulars (for 6-7 yrs) in for a quick $30 trim ... i went to Goulds and was lucky enough to get the weirdest broad in there... tats, 456789 diff colors in her hair, lip periced etc.... best looking cut ive had in a long time and saved $5 ... i have found a new home

A $30 haircut trim?

For $30 I expect to get trim.

For $30 I can buy two hair clippers (Remington/Wahl $12.99) from Wal-Mart to cut my own hair for a year, at least.

They always want me to have helmet head, these Mediterranean barbers. I walk out of there with a smooth sleek noggin. But I always end up reverting to more of a mussed up, bed-head look.

Maybe I should listen to them. They probably know better than me how hair should be.

But no.

Stained my stolen shirt during lunch. Having second thoughts about sending it back to the wash and fold. Maybe it'll magically find its way back in its rightful owner's hamper. Maybe the shirt is a hamper-hopper, living in the moment, with not a care in the world.

Maybe I need to let it go, see if it and I were meant to be.

It's a good shirt.

I was just telling Steve, I just ate an egg that I spilled a ton of salt on. It was gross. I'm not really sure why I proceeded to eat an egg I knew fully well I spilt salt on.....

I always consider the fact, as they are preparing, that they could possibly kill me, but they never do.
