Next Tuesday. The GF had to go to Leipzig for a conference - upon checking a world map, I realized that this would be the perfect opportunity to visit Poland and the Czech Republic, something I'd wanted to do ever since my college days (hugh fan of Eastern Euro lit.) I'd also been dreaming of driving like a maniac on the autobahns. Now I had to sell the idea of a massive 8-day road trip to the GF - she not a fan of passengering. So I had to cut up the trip in manageable bits (no more than 4 hours of driving per day. I came up with this:
http://goo.gl/maps/YcCk0
Night of the 4th in Dresden, DE (1hr drive from Leipzig)
Night of the 5th in Brno, CZ (2hr drive from Prague, which is a 2hr drive
from Dresden)
Night of the 6th in Krakow, PL (3.5hr drive from Brno)
Night of the 7th in Wroclaw, PL (3hr drive from Krakow)
Night of the 8th in Berlin, DE (3.5hr drive from Wroclaw)
Night of the 9th in Weimar, DE (3hr drive from Berlin)
Night of the 10th in Karlsruhe, DE (3hr drive from Erfurt)
Back to Frankfurt on the 11th (2hr drive from Karlsruhe)
Karlsruhe is only there cause we need to grab some painting the GF has had in storage there forever. Whatever.
Not sure about the total cost, I'm a horrible budgeter. Flight was 900, car 450, gas 400-500, hotels 600, add to that entertainment + food + boozage. Car, gas & hotels are split 50/50.
Krakow is fokken stunning boys. Everything I thought Prague would be.
Bedtime now, we had a crazy long day exploring South Moravia. Beautifool.
Dobranoc boys!
