This painting by the way is one of several shown during the opening titles of The Borgias. There is quite a bit of interesting art in that, but I love how this one in particular is presented. It starts with a close-up of the severed head and then it pans up until you see just the bottom half of the woman's face with her very delicate lips.

Very striking.

Unfortunately, the show itself is not quite as good as its opening titles.
