I have a jar of American change. Not talking about a nice coin collection - just change. For whatever reason, many years ago when I spotted American coins in my change, I separated them into a jar.

Now I have this jar with a bunch of American change in it.

WTF am I going to do with that shit?

Interesting development with this. I went over to the grocery store today where they have a coin cashing machine. You dump your coins in and it skims a percentage and gives you a voucher.

I am getting to have a lot of Canadian small change so I figured that for my next several trips, I would grab a handful of change and methodically use it all up.

Suddenly I thought, 'You know what? I'm going to throw in some of this American change too.' If it spits it out - as it has always done in the past - I will just leave it there in the tray and maybe some other resourceful person will find it and have some useful thing to do with it.'

Whatever - I don't care - I just want less clutter in my life. I don't need a jar of American change sitting there.

But I'll be damned if it didn't accept every last coin I put in there.

finally somebody's getting back (sort of) at those scamming ripoff coin machines

Only thing is, I don't know for a fact, I got credit for those US coins. It's not like I know exactly how much coins I put in there. I just grab a handful and stick them in there. For all I know, the machine separates the US pesos out internally and doesn't count them.

I suppose I could test that and actually count what I am feeding in there next time but that all seems a bit much.

I'm solidly into the work psychology and rhythm now. Wishing time would go fast while I'm there - and then cherishing every second of the weekends.

This whole thing about wishing away large chunks of my life is a pisser - but I guess it's called reality.

I already know I'm working next Saturday. I need the money and everything but gee whiz.

Get used to it
I ain't lyin'

Couldn't you just throw in some US coins first and see what happens?
