The skill level at the office here is absolutely ridiculous. Buncha Chinese and Russian programmer types who grew up playing the game.

Lie and cheat. Worked for me. Eventually they caught on and said it was time part ways. So I said give me three weeks severance and they agreed.

In most cases the employer just fires you on the spot but in your case the 3 weeks pay they figured was the only way to get you to leave the building! IMO RSF, you shorted yourself, probably could have gotten 2 months pay!
