I can actually smell them from here. Not that they're a million miles away but they are, say, 8 feet away.

I can't smell the bananas which are dangling no more than 3 feet from my nostrils.

The grapples though, I can definitely smell. It is purple grape, not green grape.

I can smell it.

Muddy, did you eat one yet? What did it taste like, look like? was it extra juicy? I've seen them at Sheetz all different flavors, I haven't tried them yet...I feel like puncturing the skin to inject flavor would cause early "bruising", and that is unappealing to me. Plus I can't help wonder exactly what it is they inject...does it add more sugar and take away from the healthiness of the apple?

Think about THAT!

Having now had 3 grapples, let me just say this: I believe a person's reaction to the grapple depends a lot on how much they like apples.

I myself like a crisp, tangy apple. An apple with a bit of zing. Pink lady works. Honeycrisp (although they are typically $1100/pound). Granny Smith (although they are, without a doubt, the hardest apple to tell from the outside what's going on inside.)

I am not wild about Macintosh. Harmony gave me a Cortland apple this week that she had picked herself. It was a beautiful looking Canadian apple but frankly, like macintosh, just kinda bland and mooshy.

Point being: compared to macintosh or cortland, I prefer the grapple. It has a little something going on with it.

However I think I would rather have one of those other apples I mentioned.

We'll see. I have a grapple left so I will have that - then I have some honeycrisps. We'll see how that transition goes.
