Apparently you can beat a drug test by providing a mid-stream urine sample:

According to the report, Rodriguez was also trained in tricks to beat a urine test.

"Bosch advised him to only use mid-stream urine for MLB drug testing," the DEA report stated, according to the newspaper. "Bosch told Rodriguez not to use the beginning or the end urine stream."

Is it just me or is that a pretty big bombshell? Doesn't that invalidate all urine-based testing?

Meanwhile Braun who (further) ruins the life of a peepee tester who was only telling the truth is all good in Milwaukee.

One might say he is mid-stream through his career. Hah.

No.

I call bullshit on the midstream urine angle.

Unless PED's work in a completely different way than other drugs. If anything, a midstream sample should be best as it won't have random, crusty contaminants that may be lingering around your peehole and get washed away at the start of the whizzification process.

Like if, for example, you were doing a drug bio-equivalence study and they wanted to test urine, they would insist on a midstream sample as the best way to get a true measure of the drug in your system.

I have done clinical trials in my sordid past and am aware of the scientific measures against random, crusty, lingering whizzhole contaminants.

I have also been urine-tested for drugs of abuse on more than one occasion and they also prefer that sweet, sweet midstream discharge.

The Raptors are off to a 4-1 start and some people are officially getting carried away.

Radio guy this morning was marking them down - in pen - for 50+ wins, talking about how they are now a top 5 team.

When questioned if he just meant the east he said no. The whole NBA. Even the west. He pointed to their plus .500 record against the west as evidence. He said that out loud.

They are 1-0 against the west. They beat OKC. In Toronto. Without Durant and Westbrook.

DOMINANT

Eli Manning looks more like Peyton every day.

Just flipped a channel and there was a football dude from the shoulders up. Basically a face shot with no uniform colors discernable. I was sure I was looking at Peyton Manning for several seconds.

Pull back with the camera shot ---> nope, that was a New York Giant right there.

Maybe whoever wrote that should take their skepticism and stick it up their wazoo. Current NBA Power Rankings from SI:

1
Golden State Warriors

last week: 1
record: 5-1 (Last Week: 2-1)
Stephen Curry is showing his talent on both ends, leading the league in both scoring and steals. Sunday's loss at Phoenix denied the Warriors their first 6-0 start since the franchise moved from Philadelphia in 1962.

2
Memphis Grizzlies

last week: 4
record: 6-1 (3-1)
Coach Dave Joerger wants the Grizzlies to get more exposure, but defense doesn't translate on national television as well as it does on the hardwood. Keep winning like this, though, and Memphis' games will be easy to find with a remote come late spring.

3
Toronto Raptors

last week: 15
record: 6-1 (4-0)
Few teams have looked better than Toronto, both in a basketball and fashion sense. With Drake sitting courtside at home games, it was only a matter of time until the Raptors became front-runners. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan make up the best backcourt outside of Golden State.
