It had to be fucking insulting to Quebec voters when all that clown Duceppe would talk about during debates was fucking Bill 101. Thankfully the people have spoken. There will always be a hardcore sect of people who believe Quebec should separate but there are more important issues to deal with.

Quebec is a separate culture, sure I can sort of buy that. But the east coasters have their own separate culture. Albertans have nothing in common with Ontarians, also separate cultures. We could play this game all day and divide the country into fucking columns, what is the point.

Lawn is looking quite decent! Still infested with weeds, but grass is growing very well. Seems to be about halfway there in terms of density. Will fertilize this weekend.

My life is wildly exciting!

Matty, seriously , you have to buy some Scott's Ecosense Weed B Gon and kill those fucking weeds. Weeds are a grass killa.

Didn't have a clue what was going on but my parents had a kick-ass party and I got hopped up on cream soda floats.

Cream Soda floats. That's funny. I just started to allow my oldest boy to drink pop (soda or whatever the Yanks call it) and I made him an orange soda/pop float last Friday night. My wife never had one in her life and she was quite impressed. She actually mentioned that it reminded her of a Buried Treasure. Did you Tunder Bay folks have Buried Treasure ice cream whateveryouwanttocallthem?

I think I'll pump the cream soda floats into them this weekend. Hopefully my wife will finally put out.

Hell yeah we had Buried Treasures. I used to use the sticks as wands and swords for my Barbies and Gi Joes.

Can't believe how homesick the mention of those made me.

The site I grabbed that pic from also mentioned the dixie cups with the little wooden stick and the plastic cone shaped ice cream with the gumball at the bottom.

Severe childhood flashback.

Ours looked like this with blue wrapping.

But apparently they also looked like this

The funny thing is the woman who posted these pics found them from an ebay ad. So someone was selling these sticks from the 70s/early 80s

And then another woman chimed in to say she found an elderly guy selling a bunch of them for $2 at a yard sale in Port Dover. :lmao:

Highly sought after collector's items: The marbled sticks.

My favourite was always a white ice cream, shaped like a Creamsicle but it was just pure vanilla. And it was solid - not soft at all. The ice cream was almost slightly tinged with yellow I think. White paper with red writing.

The ones out here in the maritimes is a combination of ornage and a softer vanilla type s of ice cream. It's like a swirly type of deal. I also googled it but can't find any pics of it, but the shape is the same as the one in the last pic you posted.

It was. Quebecers will always be sensitive about the language issue, but we've moved on from that paranoid era when Bill 101 was a central issue. The older generation hasn't.

Marois and Duceppe et al. needed a heart attack in October 1995.
