I see Canada is not represented in that one. No wonder.
It reminds me of the Vancouver Winter Olympics of 2010 - and I was wondering what they would come up with for the opening/closing ceremonies that captures and represents our musical culture.
And okay there was Neil Young and Leonard Cohen - fair enough - but I remember a long section with folks with technicolor mohawks and ragged clothes playing a whole bunch of really aggressive fiddle music. My reaction was, "Really? That's us? That?"
I don't think I have ever encountered that face-to-face in my life - but I guess so. I guess that's us.
And really bad comedy. I recall a lot of really bad comedy - that was supposed to be folksy - at the closing ceremony that made me cringe and feel so embarrassed I kind of wished I was dead.
