Looks like I will be making it a weekly thing. As far as my poker skills go, I'm no expert, but before I discovered sports betting all I did was play online poker, and I sucked at no limit so I played Limit Holdem cash games, usually 2-4 or 3-6.

So last night at the local casino I played in their 3-6 game, and it was mostly all older folks with a few exceptions. I started out losing about 130 bucks before I could win a hand because I was giving the players credit for hands and folding winners, which I quickly adjusted my playing style. I finally started winning hands and got paid off on everything, people would pay 3 bets while drawing dead chasing flush draws, etc. I played for about 6 hours and won $200, after tips, beers, etc. Honestly no one had a clue how to play.

Fuck women, with a girlfriend I wouldn't be allowed to go do this on my one night a week that I'm free.

Herman, you are wise beyond your V card.

Also, Herman why do you only have one night a week free to play poker?

I work second shift. Technically I have two nights a week but don't feel like playing marathon sessions on back to back nights.

Also is it a small sample size if the players are THAT bad? The game is just soft, all the good players play the No Limit games.

Mother Variance

just wait for th e day when everyone and I mean everyone hits their cards..... your straight gets flushed.... you two pair AA QQ falls to the dude with 8844 when he hits the 4 on the river.... your set gets hit when the straight comes in..... or worse you hit your set and your already behind to a bigger set..... If you think on line is rigged wait until you see how rigged live can be.....

Herman you've probably played a lot of blackjack before. Herman variance in blackjack is among the lowest of all casino games (Baccarat is in the same league) yet you'll still experience wide swings both ways and you probably know that for a fact.

Herman variance in poker is several order of magnitudes higher than that of blackjack. You'll think you're a poker God one month and then become convinced you're cursed the next month, and I'm talking about daily play, like them pros do. Herman poker is not for the faint of heart.

I have several friends who play poker professionally..... one of them is currently down 87K at the WSOP, which is a typical start for him..... He has won WPT events... and I think he won an EPT event as well. I listen to his variance when he plays and it's sick...... 2 years ago he dropped 190K at the WSOP then went on to win the Bellagio Cup the week later for 2.3 M. The pros grind it out for that big pay day......I know your not playing tournaments but remember the players you played yesterday may or may not be at the table next week. The whole "right" way to play may be changed.
