Since COVID the tip option has become much more prevalent when you pick up food. It was she she’s dine in had ceased and to lure people to work during the pandemic, tips became a major lure.

With things being normal now it shouldn’t be but nobody is going to go back to the old way of being.

I tip when I order to go and pick it up. Reason being that the counter person does answer the phone, take the order, bag it up (with the proper utensils and condiments) and rings me out.

If you think about it, that’s on par with what they do when you eat in sans dining experience.

I leave 10% for their work.

For pick-up ,no tip unless it’s a big order i.e. 8 pizzas or more. Before Covid and the tipping culture, restaurants use to offer a 10 % discount if you pickup instead of delivery, that is long gone. What has changed other than food operators trying to get customers to subsidize server’s wages.Pay a fair wages,I most certainly did.

Got this from Marisa's in Northbrook the other day.

New York Style Thin Crust
Half cheese, half sausage
Fresh garlic
7.9/10

Almost an 8. Very good, not the best I ever had but exactly what I wanted. $40 with delivery tax and tip. I generally tip 25-30%.

Got a couple meals out of it. No complaints.
