for the record, other than the 400 i sent to pavy and the few hundred i lost betting on bread and robyn to lose gambling to a filthy penny --- every single point i've gotten at sbr has been given to shanty --- yet, i guess he needs more.

Wow..."climbsomerocks shows his basebornness". Who is climbsomerocks??
.

IIRC, a random poster, climbsomerocks left a message asking for a 30 point loan. Shanty, in his wisdom decided to send him 120 or something like that.
I have no idea whether he was stiffed or not.

As it stands Shanty has two loans outstanding but puts 90% of the points he gets into the sportsbook.

perhaps i should stop giving shanty points and pay off his loans. nah.

dunder, may i ask, what exactly is your motivation behind running your points lending operation?

At first, I didnt really know what the points were for. During my first month or so at SBR I really only ever posted in the S&I forum and very occasionally in the Think Tank.
After visiting the points forum for the first time I looked at lending out some points (I had about a thousand after winning a contest) as a welcome distraction from staring at / studying lines all day.

I was stunned at how much demand there was, it was only after another couple of weeks that I discovered the SBR store. As it stands right now, it has grown way bigger than I ever intended and as a result takes up more time than I can really afford. I have to say though that it does give a great insight into the psyche of some people.

I'm sure it does. Lol

You hit sbr a couple of years too late. You would have been a great asset around there a while back. S&I is still decent. The think tank (or well at least the threads that make it up, many were moved there when it started up) taught me everything I know about gambling. But, much of that came from ganchrow who is gone.

I have looked through quite a lot of Ganchrows old stuff.
Whilst he made the mathematical elements way more complex than they needed to be at times, there is no doubt that he was a huge loss to the forum.
