Neuvirth has been hot lately and Varlamov is pretty good when healthy. Thats another spot I would have liked to see Vokoun go though.

Penner, with his salary, was worth the same that St. Louis got for Boyes.................a 2nd round pick.

Why he picked up Yappy Lappy in the first place was beyond me. He made himself look like an unqualified GM with that deal. Certainly not a trade that BB would have agreed to that's for damn sure.

Went to College with Penner, never thought he would get that contract that he did. I played a lot of stick and puck with him the year he had to redshirt. Was a shitty skater, he still sucks but he got a hell of a lot better. Penner supposedly when he was recruited, one of the 1st questions he was asked was what was his handicap in golf. The assistant coach loved recruiting good golfers.

Not really. Penner is far from perfect, but Kings were in dire need of a LW. We couldn't go into the playoffs with Brad Richardson as our first line left winger.

If we'd have given up Simmonds, I'd have been really pissed. But Teubert is a major project (and we have tons of D depth), a 15-20 pick in a weak draft, and a 2nd or 3rd in 2012. Not exactly crippling the future, and fills a big hole.
