You can use your phone like a remote control?! I've seen commercials for that. If you don't mind my asking, how much is your plan? What all does it entail? How many people are on it? Do you share minutes, text, data, web usage, etc.?

Yes, I know I can look things up on their website, but it seems everyone has a different plan, different bill, and different experience.

Yes, it acts as the remote for all devices. TV, Direct TV, blu-ray, apple tv, receiver.
$235 a month for 4 phones, of which 2 are "smartphones" plus a tablet. Tablet and both smartphones have hot spots as well. Unlimited text and talk with 4 GB of data.

We have straight talk, $50/mnth for everything, for each of us, so total of $100/mnth. My phone is two years old. I have very few complaints with it, I use it primarily for work and use email, text, and calls mainly and mostly, like every damn day. I have a laptop, and a tablet (don't think it has built in hotspot, nor have I inquired about it). I would love to update to a galaxy xs, I think it is, but that is like $300. Not that I couldn't afford that, I just can't justify spending that much on a phone when I have a perfectly good one currently that does all I need it to. I had Sprint at one point, and so long as you had, or renewed your contract, you could upgrade your phone for next to nothing, or at least very cheap....but the plans were far more expensive, and be it that we use our phones pretty much all time, and for email, web, calls, and texts, it's super cheap and I feel that getting on another plan/contract despite the actual cell phone deals, may not be financially be worth it for us.

Do you have unlimited anything? I can't recall how many GBs we use...not worried about the tablet, I have one already. What about Gmail, does that count towards your 4 GB of data?

Programmed it to control both rooms. In my bedroom it controls tv and direcTv. In main room it controls tv, direcTv and sound bar.
Soeaker phone quality is subpar at maximum volume level. Camera quality is phenomenal. Overall very easy to use. Some of the app icons and interfaces are a bit cheesy, i.e. messaging and contact photos. Comes with headphones that have adjustable volume on them. Sound and talk quality were better than I expected.

one of my evo 4g lte's started fouling up a few weeks ago... just switching off for no reason... it would be fully charged and would shut right off or never boot up properly.. its rooted (like iphones are jailbroken) so i dont get some updates... but im due for an upgrade... im going to go with the another htc ... the one m8 harmon/kardon edition... the audio is freakin phenomenal.. 10x better than any other phone out there... 2 speakers and it sounds like you are listening to a boom box... or i might go with the sam s5 ... it appears to be the ultimate picture taking machine and is waterproof, which is handy... but ya, i saw where the audio system is just normal...

decisions decisions:thinking:

Liked the HTC as well. Camera was pretty big difference betweenot the 2. Water resistant was another contributing factor for me as well. Liked the sleek feel of HTC. Ultimate battery saving mode on Samsung seems like a nice little feature.

i havent gotten too caught up with the sleekness of phones because ya gotta throw a case on em anyways... i was looking at phone cases on amazon and they have a line of clear cases for the ss5..cheap too
