It starts January 2nd.

Are you guys excited about it's potential?
Do you think if they do it right it might stop or at least reduce the power that ESPN appears to have?
Certainly like to opportunity to get more variety.

All they are really doing is renaming Versus to NBC Sports Network. Since Comcast owns NBC, they could be a player in some ABC-ESPN events.

At this point, I'm getting bored of watching sports. I'd rather just place my bets and check the scores at night.

Too many commercials in football games especially. I only watch soccer live on TV. Every other game with commercial breaks on DVR.

How many ways can I watch a guy dunk, hit a walk off home run, make a buzzer beater, catch a hail mary as time expires, etc., etc.

I've seen it all already.

It's just reruns now.

Yeah, I know NBC owned Versus or they are both owned by the same or whatever but was thinking this would allow for more college hoops, more college everything sports. Maybe more hockey maybe not who knows. Not sure what it will do for NFL, MLB and NBA but maybe if they last down the road it'll open those up as well.

Then again it could all go bust before the end of the year.

If you spend as much time in sportsbooks as I have, you'd understand.

People are not only ridiculously predictable, bad gamblers, but they're annoying as Hell when you're on the other side of them about 80% of the time.

When people start clapping and cheering after the first basket of an NBA or NCAAB game, you just start thinking to yourself, "What is wrong with these people?"

What I find super annoying is Espn Sportscenter hosts trying their own gimmick? Also annoying is them showing highlights from the week before still, Tebow, Denard Robinson. Etc.

i doubt it, i've read they are investing alot in terms of content, I think it will be successful in competing h2h with espn

They have their foot in the door with NHL. Until they jump into ESPN/ABC's backyard, by taking some of their programming, I will pop by every now and then to watch a hockey game.
