My World Cup tally so far

I almost watched some World Cup action this morning. I was talking to the gf on the phone, sitting in my comfy chair. I remembered there was an elimination game going on so I figured I could watch it muted while I gabbed and see what was going on.

However it was halftime so there was no "action" to be seen and my perfect record of indifference remains intact.

I watched all the U.S.A. matches and Mexico matches along with some of the Brazil matches. I'm really giving it a chance this time around.

We are doing just fine.

I finally did break my cherry and watch some World Cup soccer today. I was not enthralled (but then I am seldom enthralled by any sport other than curling).

Those fecking vuvuzela horns are idiotic. I had heard people talk about them but didn't understand until today how profoundly retarded they really are.

I don't have any angles on it. If I had infinite time I would have angles on everything but I don't so I don't.

This time of year, I bet baseball. If I had more spare time, I have a zillion more things I would research on baseball before I would get around to soccer.

And the way I work, I doubt I could generate any angles on a once-every-4-years event like this anyway. Even if I had odds and results for every World Cup game ever played, there would be insufficient samples of everything.
