MrX
Currently watching Mad Men for the first time. Into it. Movies have sucked lately, but there are more good shows than I could ever watch. Looking forward to the new season of Killing Eve. I'm halfheartedly thinking of trying The Expanse.

Haven't hardly been drinking during the quarantine. Sticking to mostly nitrous and pain pills. Probably moving on to acid this week. Gotta leave room for growth.

Zero gambling. I'm teaching myself MIG welding. I like it a lot. Melting steel with electricity is even more fun than it sounds.

Better than ever, thanks for asking.
easy,:whoa: I was looking forward to hearing something regarding those

I found season 1 of Mad Men to be an all-time season of TV right up there with anything. Mount Rushmore material. Season 2 was also very good, maybe a smidgen lower.

After that it settled into a 7 out of 10 kinda show for me. Still good but pretty far from Mt Rushmore.

But then I haven't given it that all-important second viewing. Maybe soon.

MrX thanks for your participation. Glad things are well.

So the original MrsX is now your EX. Is there a MrsX2 or is she an EX as well (EX2) ? What is the number of the current MrsX? 2,3, 4?
TIA.

There's only one exMrsX.

I'll be sure to save some.

It has some good qualities. It's comparable to Mad Men with its presentation of characters and relationships, almost like a piece of literature more than standard TV. So it seems to me anyway.

It's set in 1940's Italy (it has subtitles) and there are some striking moments relating to the role of women and class structure.

I confess though, I was wondering more than anything what you would say about the acting. I find it to be some of the most hilariously bad acting I have ever seen in a (for lack of a better term) proper show. I mean, it's an HBO thing, considered somewhat prestigious.

But the two female leads - I don't know what to say. It's just amazing. I can't believe it's happening sometimes.

Interesting. I've wondered before if I would even recognize what I consider to be bad acting if I was watching a non-English language film. Usually what bugs me, acting-wise, is an unnatural delivery of dialogue. Would I notice?

But also, I really haven't watched many non-English things that aren't considered excellent, so.... :dunno:

They're just blocks of wood. They're exponential January Joneses.

It really is funny. I watched a scene yesterday and something happened - something ambiguous - it was an important scene. You don't know how Lenu will take it. Will she be mad, sad, thinks-it's-funny? Could go any way.

They zoom in for a close-up of her face.

Nope, still no idea if she's mad, sad or thinks-it's-funny. I literally laughed out loud.
