I remember Gary shandling show. It was on that big fox line up with Tracy ullman and married with children etc.. ..a prelude to the good stuff. It had a strange charm I felt.
The Larry Sanders Show though ---> it's good but not as good as I was thinking. Maybe I'll eventually watch all 89 episodes - they're only like 23 minutes each - and it's pretty good - but it's not compelling like my recent start-to-finish rewatch of Arrested Development.
While it's sometimes thoughtful and sometimes interesting to look at, it's really just a bunch of contrivances thrown together. Pieces don't fit.
It seems like it should be a metaphor with the guy who thinks/wishes he can move stuff with his mind and fly, but it falls apart. You got all the stuff about social media. You got the ridiculous theatre critic.
Artsy-fartsy. Pretentious. Reminded me of the Steely Dan song Show Biz Kids.
