I would have thought it was some sort of intentional technique - just about Don - which maybe they will tie in some neat little ribbon in the next two episodes with a flashback or something. Maybe it is really is some deep connection to Rachel which they hinted at before.

But the thing with her ex-husband saying guys are doing that all the time, showing up and chasing after her.

Really? They haven't shown anything for that to ring true in any way. She has no personality. She is almost impossibly uninteresting. I just feel like I'm being told, look, we just need you to buy this and don't ask questions.

Meanwhile someone convinced me to download the first episode of the Netflix sitcom, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which I believe Tina Fey is the main creative person behind - which is not a huge selling point to me - but I find the lead character very cute anyway. I'll try an episode and go from there.
