Into the Wild
I was actually really excited to see this movie. It was directed by Sean Penn and is the true life story of a guy that gave up everything to live off the grid in the Alaskan wilderness. The movie stars Emile Hursch and he does a fairly good job of selling the roll. He goes to college to please his parents but realizes that he could never be a part of their lives after understanding how truly messed up his childhood was. He decides to travel around the country getting to know some interesting people on his journey toward the ultimate goal of getting to Alaska. I would definitely recommend this one because it really is a story about going after what you believe in and doing what truly makes you happy within life...whatever that might be.
Remember Me
I watched this movie very reluctantly as I thought it was going to be another one of those stupid cheesy romance movies. I was really entertained though. It wasn't at all what I thought it would be, especially having that weird vampire guy in it (Robert Pattinson). The character he plays is the son of a wealthy family that decides he is going to rebel against society, his family and just about everyone around him. He gets himself into problems and basically lives on the poverty line. He gets arrested and realizes that the daughter of the cop that arrested him is cute. He begins a romance with her at first with the intention of helping his legal issues but falls for her. It had that hot blond from Lost playing the girl (Emilit De Ravin) which I had forgotten was as hot as she was. I really kept expecting something else within the movie but the end was very good as it was. It shows the struggle people have with grief and losing loved ones within their life as well as how that bond can bring two people together. Another recommended movie....I know...I know but trust me it is better than you would think.
