That looked intriguing, Juror. Should I rent it (if I'm able to)?
An Education - I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if you are a big fan of Iron Man 2, then this British film won't do anything for you.
It was nominated for Best Picture. It's a fine little movie, centering around the coming-of-age for a girl that seems to be Matt Rain's type in my opinion. She's cute, but plain. Adventurous, but disciplined. She has an infatuation with all things French. Matt Rain would probably like this movie. It was OK for me.
The 3D shit was pretty damn cool Amby, especially when they were flying those dragon thingies. Other than that, I agree that it was mostly tacky tree-hugging propaganda.
Never heard of that 21 Grams, looked up the trailer and saw its from the same that guy that directed this movie.
Bread look up this movie, Amores Perros, the dude use to shoot tv ads before he did this film. You just have take in a little subtitles but its well worth it. Its about Mexico D.F., the real modern day ghetto Mexico, not that stupid California chicano cliche bullshit.

Alright so I was really hesitant to see this movie and I probably should have gone with my gut. Man did I think it was blah. 2 hours and 45 minutes of politically charged garbage. The story was lame...predictable and boring. The characters were....not very well rounded. The dialog was absolutely terrible. I think they had the Marines that were shooting yell "Get SOME!" 6 or 7 times which was almost enough to have me shut the tv off right then and there. I realize that it is a different experience in a theater with 3D but I just can't see how that would change how horrific everything else in the movie was.
.That reminds me of the time Jennifer Love Hewitt was plugging the first Garfield movie and she appeared on The Daily Show.
I don't know what was going on with Jon Stewart that day but clearly he wasn't thinking things through too carefully and his first question to her was something like. "What have things come to for Bill Murray that he has to do a movie like that?"
The problem of course being that JLH also did the movie and she was sitting right there, now looking very insulted.
There was just no way for Stewart to slither out of it. Very awkward moment in interviewing history.
