An Education - I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if you are a big fan of Iron Man 2, then this British film won't do anything for you.

It was nominated for Best Picture. It's a fine little movie, centering around the coming-of-age for a girl that seems to be Matt Rain's type in my opinion. She's cute, but plain. Adventurous, but disciplined. She has an infatuation with all things French. Matt Rain would probably like this movie. It was OK for me.

21 Grams - Probably the fifth time I've seen this one and I love, love love it. All depressing movies give you at least SOMETHING to smile, to offer hope at least once. Not this one. The trio of Penn, Del Toro and Watts are amazing, and they should really get together to film more dramas at some point. Good shit.

Oh, and Naomi Watts shows her boobies a lot. She always does :lock:

I shall watch 21 Grams soon.

Saw Crazy Heart on the plane a couple days ago. Good acting, enjoyable Southern US sights and sounds, completely forgettable story. 6 out of 10 Matty Rains.

They also played that horrible shit with Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant, I forget the title. Hugh Grant seems like such a nice, intelligent guy in interviews. He must feel like shooting himself in the face every time he has to go to work.

Also Mulholland Dr, Breadipoo.

Breadipoo you do realize that the concert scene in that film *was* in multiple foreign languages? Which means that you wasted 30 minutes of your life searching for its English version on Youtube, you dummy?

Hahaha.

Oh almost forgot (which wouldn't be a huge deal)

MacGruber - We were bored, nothing out at the theaters, so we said why not. It was exactly what I figured it would be and put me to sleep a few times. A slapstick comedy minus any clever slapstick. Shocker. When all else fails, insert as much pure raunch as possible = standard formula.

I saw 21 Grams again a few weeks ago too. Decent movie. I saw the Last House on the Left yesterday. It was alright for a thriller if you feel like wasting some time.

I also saw Louis C.K.'s HBO stand-up special (from like 2006) again last night. Fucking hilarious. Go suck a bag of dicks.

I have absolutely no interest in seeing that movie.

I saw a couple movies last week.

The Messenger - Not a bad movie but kind of dreary and empty. I would have thought that much more could be done with the subject matter (military dudes who deliver the news of loved ones that died in Iraq to their families back in America). They introduced the premise then meandered off in random directions. Woody Harrelson got an Oscar nomination for it. He was good I guess. I dunno. 5.2 out of 10.

The Dresser (1983) - I like this oldie a lot but, like An Education, it is definitely not for the Iron Man crowd. It is very theatrical and character driven and acting driven. 7 out of 10 for me.

And in other movie news, one of the most predictable, really-not-funny comic strips of all time is being adapted for the big screen. There is a Marmaduke movie coming out. Make your plans now.

I liked this more than you. Having now seen all the Best Picture nominees from last year, I think I would vote for this as the winner.

Never heard of that 21 Grams, looked up the trailer and saw its from the same that guy that directed this movie.

Bread look up this movie, Amores Perros, the dude use to shoot tv ads before he did this film. You just have take in a little subtitles but its well worth it. Its about Mexico D.F., the real modern day ghetto Mexico, not that stupid California chicano cliche bullshit.

Haha, I'd somehow skipped over that 2nd paragraph. Will watch today as soon as I'm done hating on Lost.
