Boys don't powerwash your old bikes, you're gonna fok everything up.

I temporarily messed up my speedometer (condensation inside the housing), sidestand switch (engine shut down on me on a busy road last week -I later realized that the switch needed lubing) and brake lever (pressure washer unscrewed the screw that adjusts the free play)

That sidestand switch bug was kinda scary. I coulda died.

Bike looks clean as fok though.

MrX here's an alternative for comfortable touring:

Oh dear.

For months, I've been obsessing over my turn signals that won't stay on. When not moving, they'll stay on forever, but if I move at all, they turn themselves off at random intervals. I tend to be stuck at the same intersections for several minutes at a times when in rush hour traffic, so I would ideally have them stay on. Not that it matters that much. But I hate when something's not working right on the bike. So I obsess.

I cleaned all the wiring and connectors several times, with no luck. Fok me.

This morning I fired up the service manual that's on my work computer. Look what I found:

Self-cancelling turn signals. They're working as designed.

Even modern bikes don't have that.

What a machine, this thing. *pets old heap of shit*

I'll say good idea. I might have thrown in a little more protective gear for the kid, but whatever. The odds of anything bad happening are low, and the kid will have fond memories of that forever. Kids are overprotected these days.
