Yeah. Carbon fiber bicycles are luxury products that are super labour intensive. If you want one, buy one now from one of the big four manufacturers. The current discounts are below cost and I've confirmed that Trek and Specialized are eating the loss on unsold post-COVID bikes. That's nice of them.

I just looked and Cannondale's Topstone Carbon 4 is currently being advertised for CA$1000 below MSRP, and that's a MAP-compliant price, meaning that even steeper discounts can likely be found in store. Wouldn't surprise me if you could score one for CA$2000 in store. That's an insane deal.

Flat bar hybrids are even more of a steal right now. Sell your Cannondale and go get something like a Trek FX Sport 5 Carbon. My local bike shop is selling the 2024s for $1499 Canadian which is like 1100 USD. Insane, man.

@kato, everything is getting slaughtered. It has been since last September at the wholesale level.

Job wise, this was hell week (420 week). Drove about 3000 miles all over Michigan, moving about $1 mil worth of cannabis. Still trying to get a feel for this, but the market sucks for a 60-YO.

Feel for Matty as he's in the bleak job status at the moment - and it probably won't change unless he makes it change. I see a lot of the same stuff he does, except with pot.
