So he's not a sales rep, just an old friend with a big mouth.
That guy has definitely been to jail for slinging dope. I know his type.
caligirl?Update on this guy... the landlord came up to me this morning asking if I saw Kevin (the aforementioned big mouth bipolar hustler guy) over the weekend. I didn't. Good, he said, I told him not to come back.
Ok.
Guess who just showed up.
Starting salary is very low, a dollar or two above minimum wage ($15-16). Depending how it goes I might move to a piece rate which could be a lot more advantageous for the person.
I'll probably be hiring someone on the autism spectrum, I had a call today with a "diversity recruiter" who specializes in that. The job seems uniquely suited for someone like that.
In an ideal world that person would become a partner in the business and run the Owen Sound shop after I move back to TO in late 2021. We'll see though, lots of other things need to happen first.
.My employer continues to be pretty generous. Yes, they have been driving us like cattle for quite awhile. It started in, what, March?, when sales of masks and sanitizers started going nuts - and it has been a continuous escalation leading to many of us working 60-hour weeks one-after-another all through 4th quarter. Sure, I would rather sacrifice some money and not work that much but since ya-gotta-do-what-ya-gotta-do, that's what has happened.
But we've been making a $5/hr covid premium the whole time. That's a pretty good premium.
All that OT plus premiums have made for some pretty eye-opening paycheques.
We got our profit sharing last week. It was supposed to be $6500 but they upped it to 10K.
And they are continuing the $5 premium at least until the end of March.
Again, I would prefer not work so much but it sure ain't hurting the ole retirement fund.
