It's not like that. It's a business arangment and I work essentially 24/7. If you would like to put quotes around work, you may, but the fact is that my income is not free money.

And when I worked as a paralegal, that had nothing to do with my family. Don't be a sore loser House.

Plus this is a stupid thread anyway...Money is the root of all evil. He who was last will be first. It is easier for a camel to get thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. Money can't buy me love.

Some people are in your position and still need to go to work and try to pay for the care their parent needs when they can't be there...out of their own pocket. Of course it's a business arrangement...and I am not taking anything away from what you are doing. But if you don't think having money in the family eases that strain over other people in similar positions I don't know what to say. Not may people out there are MAKING 100,000 a year to take care of an ailing parent...to think otherwise isn't really of sound mind.

No...most people pay the nursing homes $100k and take themselves out of the equation. And most people who are taking care of a parent, are not doing it virtually 24/7/365...if you break down the math on that, it's not a very high hourly rate....especially when you consider no insurance etc.

Don't mind me, I'm pmsing and very tired and just trying to interject into what I see as stupid pissing contest over something that has far too much importance in the world.

You kinda just toss out that most people pay nursing homes 100,000 dollars like it tossing out a dollar to a black man on the street.

And the whole if you break it down by the hour thing.

It's the same angle that a housewife should be paid 120,000 a year when you put her job on an equal footing with a cab driver, a cook, a maid, etc.

I am gonna say this one more time.




Many many many many less people make money taking care of a parent rather then lose money.

Many many less.

And if I remember correct...which I do...your favorite jimmy johns sandwiches are the big John and club lulu and when you left the private sector working class you said you would be unable to find a job that even closely resembled your old private sector jobs pay.
