I've wanted to go for the first weekend for a few years now, but plane tickets are expensive and I can't get hotel comps (I can pretty much any time a big event isn't going on).

It seems like everyone goes out there and I've read how it's impossible to get a seat. Groups hold them and rotate shifts over the 4 days. Other places have food and drink minimums.

Is it also a pain in the neck to get bets in? For reference for future years - is it worth the hassle to go during this time? Potato write up a trip report for this weekend.

Onner, it is not as bad as you may think. Last year I had no problem getting bets in and as far as rooms go, I was able to book a friend in a room for $89 a night with my comp points. I wouldn't fly out here just for March Madness though. Better times than that to hang here.

Seating is difficult. There are places though. Off-strip you will find seating. The HILTON opens their theater and it's like a high school auditorium full of bettors cheering every basket. Seating aplenty.

The line at the HILTON for the $10 parlay idiots was 30 minutes long at 8:00am. The $500 minimum window has no line.

We were at the PALAZZO last March Madness. The line was very short, but Tomato is never returning there again after they fucked him over on a bet.

The VENETIAN was a 30 minute wait to cash a ticket on Saturday night.

Depends on what you want in Vegas. Off-strip properties are the best in terms of crowds/seating/lines.
