Walking to work this morning, I suddenly felt something pushing against the back of my head.

T'was a fokking bird trying to attack me. There's this empty lot next to our condo building and I guess that the bird decided to nest there.

I googled "black bird with red wings" to figure out what it was.

I give you... the aptly-named Red-winged blackbird.

Yeah we get some of those in Port Credit. There is one bridge in particular where the really uppity ones like to congregate.

I have seen people having their heads attacked but have not been victimized myself yet.

Always the head, it seems. Not interested in torsos and appendages, these birds.

I used to walk 2 kilometers to work inside the CN railyard in Montreal, I would get attacked by small birds that were nesting along the tracks. Oh and a duck once, he came out of a ditch with its wings fully deployed.

I was terrified twice a day just to make it to work and back.

Fucking hate birds.
