I don't get it either and especially for The Messi Event. Can't say never but very rarely we ever left any events early. Our strategy was let everyone else rush out and then we won't be bumper-to-bumper in traffic.

Looked like he almost knew immediately it was going in.

Traffic is wild and infrastructure is terrible. Leaving 5-10 mins before game ends can save you literal hours.

I always stay to the end, and I agree leaving early in a tie-game with fucking Messi in the mix is insane. But it's generally an understandable decision.
