remember when that one tv station. I can't remember if it was espn or fox, had that thing where they illuminated the puck on the screen? and when it went really fast they changed the colors to like hot red or somthing? I don't recall much, it was only for one season and I didn't watch much hockey.

yeah it was a lame attempt to draw in more viewers.

Matty, what are your thoughts on Gary Bettman?

Matty, have you ever lost any teeth playing hockey? how many stitches have you got in your life due to hockey injuries?

Oh wow, that one has the Auto Motion shit... when I bought my Sony these fancy Samsungs were twice the price. I would definitely get that Samsung over the Sony Pucky. They look incredible. Go in the store and check them out, the difference is very very obvious.

Now you really have me thinking. I wish I could watch HNIC with that Sony TV Matty. CBC has a great production on Sat nights.

Gary's a fokken puppet.

No. Zero. Never played organized ice hockey. I did boxing as a kid. Single Mom couldn't afford two sets of hockey equipment for the twins, we woulda needed to take turns. Tragic.

usually on electronics new stuff releases in jan so the prices drop to get rid of the old products. anyway let me know what you end up picking i have not even begun to research tvs being as how i have been engulfed with school up until this week.

You should definitely get the Samsung. If you go in the store and watch them side by side you will eliminate the Sony in 5 seconds. I didn't cause it was twice the price at the time and I don't care that much about TV.

I'm leaning towards the Samsung Matty. Higher price for sure, but I think it may be a better tv for sure.

Not a big electronics guy but we have 2 Samsung HDTV and very happy with them. Only small thing that a repair guy had to come out and replace was a recall on a capacitor that blew out from not being strong enough.

Repairs all kinds of TV's and he told me Samsung has the least amount of problems in general and easiest for them to repair.. Showed me inside of TV and Samsung has 1-2 boards while Sony could have 4-5 boards inside it that might need replacing.

Good info. Thanks MrMonkey. Here's an e-banana for your contributions today.

Matty,
I ended up getting that Sony model today, but christ almighty I'm still on the fence. Only reason why I picked it up is because it was on sale for $549. FS had them on for $534, but they were sold out so I got mine at the Sony store. I think I'll keep it (in the box) for another week or so and continue to shop around. That Samsung model looks very nice and will be on sale at Costco next week, but not sure what the sale price will be. Yes, I am one indecisive shopper.
