Shorty there's a lake called Lake Cocibolca where there's bull sharks living natively, the theory is that centuries ago they swam up river through the San Juan River for hundreds of kilometers from the Caribbean sea and settled there. They adapted to live in fresh water and there's now an endemic community there. I saw one with my own eyes when I took a ferry off Granada going to this lake island call Ometepe.
See, that freaks me out even more…
