I don’t think there’s any “hype”

I think it’s just a matter of these days Hollywood puts out one, maybe two, good films a year and everyone is excited for a director/lead actor combo that always delivers.

I loved The Wolf of Wall Street. I even enjoyed Shutter Island. I wanna see this latest thing whatever it is. Leo and Scorsese is "bubblegum prestige cinema", in a good way.

Just saw it.

For a Scorcese/Dicaprio film, it was a huge letdown.

While DiCaprio’s acting is good (as well as the female lead), I just couldn’t buy into DeNiro as an Oklahoma cattle tycoon (who also speaks Native American). DeNiro was great in The Irishman. For this film it just doesn’t work.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the screenplay and dialogue are clumsy in many instances.
