kato's good mourning/good evening thread

Good mourning gentleman

I agree rogue about Al Jazeeras documentaries, very professionally produced, really inmpressed. Al Jazeera has alot of great documentaries on their web site and they are actually free to watch, unlike so many bbc or american news channels.I watched the history of the stasi, chasing mladic and the nigerian connection over the last few weeks .

good doc on the state of british football and world football and their connection to their communities with all these billionaire owners

Sov, that doc is great, has tons of liverpool football history on it. Rogue, I get al jazeera english when I am in DC and they have a big presence in DC, the Obama administration has a whole different policy. I think more american cable companies are starting to carry them, you can get it on dish and direc tv, and you can watch it live online.

I read an article that a good deal of their web traffic came from the states during the Arab spring. Actually, it has been banned in alot of arab countries like egypt during the arab spring. Its all bout quality, their documentaries are top notch and they have alot more coverage on Africa and alot of other places the world media neglects. Al Jazeera is really making huge inroads in covering football, their sports channel Bein sports is on dish and direc tv. Bein sports may actually become the place to watch premier league football in the states and the only place you can see american soccer, Fox is trying to hold on to the rights to the premier league but Quatar has the deep pockets and I have been really impressed from what I have seen so far.

Great article on Al jazeeras push into the american football markets http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/31/s...eavily-on-soccer-on-us-tv.html?pagewanted=all

I will watch it when I get home.

But I agree with you regarding Al Jazeera. One of the most unbiased news sources out there, and I like watching it online for any major or live events taking place. Much better than watching news sources in most countries, imo.

Also, NBC got the new Premier league rights so Fox will not have much soccer to show, especially with Bein taking La Liga matches.

NBC won the rights? ugh. Their hockey package with the nhl was awful, I wish Bein had of won that premier league deal. Bein coverage has been pretty wide and alot more games than fox, fox soccer would rather show reruns of games already played rather than some live game from around the world. Sort of like the tennis channel, of course, the tennis channel runs ab ads and 1 hour infomercials instead of actual tennis matches. Thank god for first row sports

I like Fox and their team of commentators and pundits. Hoping NBC brings in someone good, though I would prefer a dedicated soccer channel like FSC and FSC plus.

Here's the link for NBC winning the deal, btw: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...glish-premier-league-rights-in-united-states/
