I've got an interview this afternoon about School Bus driving. Seems kind of silly. It is for part time positions that don't start until September. However I'll go and give it the full interview treatment. The free B license training could be valuable.

I've got my personal letters of reference which I wrote myself.

What am I doing? This bus thing is not going to work out. It doesn't make sense.

Then I go to apply for a warehouse job. They say to apply in person. Guy is looking at me and I can't imagine he's not thinking, "You? What are you, almost 50? I'm going to hire you for a physical job in a world crawling with 20 year olds?"

What am I doing?
 
You like assembly lines? I would be glad to forward you the info on these jobs. There are a bunch of them out there. I've had three solid offers in the last month or so. You could probably follow up and be working tomorrow.

The sky is the limit for an ambitious assembly line dood.
 
Muddy, just an observation but I don't think you "REALLY" need a job yet. People that REALLY need a job take what they can when they can.

I'm thinking you have started the search early so you can afford to pick and choose.

Yes and no.

I would definitely not say I started the search early. I have waited longer than I should have to get busy making alternate plans.

But at the same time, I am not what I would call desperate. I am maintaining some standards as far as minimum acceptable salary and types of work I am willing to take. As time goes on, compromise may become necessary (although I still ain't working on no assembly line).
 
I've found driving jobs the most tolerable. Wouldn't try a school bus, but other buses or even delivery of any kind is not that bad. And you got a car that needs some work. If I ever considered getting a job that's where I would look.
