Preference has nothing to do with it. I'm not qualified to do any interesting or good paying jobs.

What am I going to do? Apply for a job as a DNA expert in a crime lab? See if I can get an interview with the Raptors for an Assistant General Manager position? How do I go about that? Send in an application saying I qualified for Jeopardy and I really really have a lot of common sense?

If you have any suggestions for good jobs I can get with my high school diploma and no experience, I am all ears.

Nope, I thought I read in a previous thread somewhere that you were an astrophysics major in college. Not that I really expected you to get a job now in a related field but I thought you had a Masters degree somehow.

This job today wouldn't be bad. There is a probationary period but if/when I got on perm, the pay is above average, good benefits, bonus plan. It is a big international company so if I wanted to start getting ambitious, there is a ladder to climb.

It sounds like there might be a lot of hours with the warehouse work - at least at certain times (like right now). That would be good because my financial situation is in shambles and I could use the overtime. But it's a minus too - I do like to have a life outside of work.

The location is not good. It's do-able but not good. I'd probably think about relocating at some point.

Anyway, we'll see what happens. 2 interviews tomorrow too.

It would depend on what time of day and what kind of route I could work out. I'd have to tinker with it.

It's not particularly far in terms of miles but with it being such a bad spot to get in and out of, I'd guess ~50 minutes each way at rush hour.

This is going north/south Mississauga which is always bad. East/west, you have options, but north/south has always been a dog's breakfast going back to my first jobs 30 years ago.

That's not even taking into consideration all the construction which is FUCKING EVERYWHERE RIGHT NOW.

I just had something else happen here. One place I applied to sent me an email pre-screen which I just filled out. It was no small thing either.

I'm not sure how to categorize that; it doesn't feel quite as happening as getting a face-to-face interview - but it's something. Someone saw my resume and decided a next step was called for.

I'm definitely getting some attention all of a sudden.
