If someone kills him, I'll stick up for dead Houser every time. Again, even being a racist isn't a criminal act. Killing someone is. You can't justify that racist behavior, but you can't condone killing him for it either. So, back to my initial point, you can't litigate good taste. Same argument over pornography.

What if they don't kill him, they just beat the crap out of him? I don't think anyone is condoning the killings, but they are condoning the racist behavior in the name of free speech. Sure it is not a crime, but it should then be universally applied. Let's say the paper had been doing caricatures of jews (which as Vagabond pointed out got a Hebdo employee fired) or blacks repeatedly which were completely offensive. Of course, again no way you could condone killing for that...but would people in America be locking arms and screaming about freedom of the press? I don't think so. ..and btw, you can't deny the Holocaust in Germany.

I think you meant legislate good taste, not litigate,...and maybe morality is the better term, but understood. I just don't see how repeated poking at something sacred to a large group of the world's population (more concerned with the non-extreme Muslims) does anyone any good. Is it sad? Of course. Wrong? of course? Unexpected? Surprised it didn't happen earlier.

Deny the Holocaust? I think you're making some connections that simply don't apply. If anything you should be more worried about questioning the behavior of those who are exercising their freedoms. Litigating bad behavior comes from the movie The People vs. Larry Flynt so not my words, and I think it applies here. Let people be allowed to have bad taste, and it's not up to us to decide what that is. Just as you can't tell Larry Flynt not to put a crucifix in a vagina and print that, you can't tell the French to not be racists. Racism is not a crime. Is it bad behavior, sure.

I find it ironic that the dude who preached Jihad By The Sword to advance his religion is offended by a cartoon. Apparently killing 1 billion infidels for the last 1400 years does not upset him but my god you draw a cartoon of him all hell breaks loose.

Exactly. A lot of people hiding behind the religion thing also to justify killing - with the blessing of ISIS and other rogue outfits.

Lol. I know I didn't express that Holocaust thing well ... ha. I meant that you cannot legally deny that the Holocaust happened in Germany. It's a crime. . I know it read much differently. I didn't proof. I agree with the gist of what you are saying. I think most would. I guess it's just not a cause I can get too worked up about. There are plenty of "better" people getting whacked by these guys and their ilk for me to be concerned about Charlie. #Bringbackourgirls

I consider South Park the best comedy TV show of all time - and the guy(s) that drew that should watch it and learn how satire works.

Charlie Hebdo is guilty of the worst offense in my book: attempting humor while not being funny.
