And ultimately unproductive?

I find myself talking my gf off the ledge but only about things she can't change.

Then I thought of politics and all the friends I have that immerse themselves in political pundits and conjecture. But to what end? I am more informed than most I believe but let's be realistic you can not change what you don't control. You can merely be happy for what you have or you've worked for and hope you made some kind of difference in the lives of those that matter to you. Wow. That was cheesy.

Yes.

A common female trait however is to worry and stress about things, males tend to be more solution oriented.

You should make sweet love to her ASAP.

Coug's are you truly more informed or just more aggressively opinionated?

My guess is both. Anyone here who cares to have a political discussion with me have at it. But you will likely be offended and purged.

Well it all comes back to the Serenity Prayer. Not that I pray but the principles are solid.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference

Line 3 is the tricky part. Knowing the difference.

When it comes to political grumping, people can rationalize that their proselytizing actually does make a difference in some large karmic sense.

Personally I am all about the serenity. I pick my battles very carefully. My gut tells me when I have stepped too far into futility.

I love the principles behind the Serenity Prayer but I'm unsure how I'm going to incorporate God (if it all) into my son's life.

So I Googled and came up with this Mother Goose one from 1695 on wiki that I'm going to use for the time being.

I quite like it. Catchy too.
