Wally, dear, I am going to disagree with you on this one. The way I see it is IF Auburn were to win out they will cheapen and blacken the 4 previous titles. Any and all reasonable peoples knew that Reggie Bush was going to take USC down back when the allegations were first rumored about. In NCAA investigations the old adage "Where's there is smoke there is fire" holds true. There was nada connecting USC to the agent that paid the Bush family and person the NCAA listened to was a convicted felon whose reputation makes Kenny Rogers look nice. Of course my thinking Auburn was gonna get smacked by the NCAA was even prior to the reports of the FBI investigation into McGregor and Auburn. Now here is what you need to know about Milton McGregor. He owns dog tracks and "casinos" here in Alabama although those were closed down by the governor. Long story. Anyhoo...last year Birmingham's mayor was convicted in federal court of taking bribes and the usual crap. It also came out during all that the mayor (Larry Langford) won a LOT at Mr. McGregor's place, VictoryLand. He would be escorted to certain slot machines and viola! He WON!!!!!!!!!! Now, I have heard from 2 different reports that it is a possibility that some (or 17) Auburn players have also received the langford treatment. Actually, what a cool way for a booster to pay out some money and have them claim it as gambling winnings. Mr. McGregor was arrested earlier this year on a federal indictment of bribery of government officials and has been under wiretaps for a couple of years now, including the tme of Cam Newton's recruitment.
