Clinical Psychology. Hung up on the dissertation which hopefully will shake out as "The personality determinants of successful 12-step recovery models"...specifically focusing on addiction (alcohol, drug, perhaps gambling) and how these forms of treatment interact with common personality traits prominent in those who suffer from addictions. The research involves delineating who does/doesn't do well in groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and why. The foundation on the research is based on Self-Psychology and Attachment Theory.

Are you in the Human Resource Management field? That was my initial degree prior to getting into Counseling Psychology which I completed in 02'. My father has been in the recruitment/HR field for 45 years.

My field boils down to sales. My girl is a brain like you. Starte college at 14 and had her MBA by 23.

That's pretty amazing. When I finished my studies in Business I was advised to hold off on an MBA as you benefit most with real life experience. More power to her...got her whole life ahead of her to be VERY successful.

Believe it or not, I have some actuary experience.

What is your take on the whole Shrink thing?

I think what happened was mind baffling. Like you, I have no information regarding the circumstances. I am stuck how his wife went along with the plan and the thought process of taking the two dogs with them. I am trying to be respectful as it is the right thing to do.

I think overall WE (gamblers) are good people but you have to admit that a significant percentage of some of us are down right bizarre (just review my posts). It fits with what a gambler would do but again, so much is missing to even make an educated opinion.

The one thought that has stuck with me is how he always said bad publicity was good publicity as long as people were talking about you. In a perverse way I think he would have enjoyed all this attention. Does that make sense?

I feel very sorry for her kids, grandkids and Mo & Blondie.
