......I am gonna go test drive Smart Cars.

I am so fascinated with these little cars. I want to see (A) if I can fit, (B) if I can be comfortable and (C) the look on the salesman's face when I ask to test drive.

In semi-related news I sat in a Mini for the first time at the last car show in Montreal. Thing is ridiculously cramped inside and I'm only 5'11". Do not want.

Smarts are supposed to accomodate 6+ footers easily.

More interested in the Mazda 2 as far as city driving goes. Hope that some rental companies pick it up.

As much as I'd like to curb emissions and all that do gooder stuff, I just can't see myself driving in one of those things.

Until something resembles a normal car with a fair amount of range, I won't be owning one. I would buy that Renault though.

The Smart Car is a gas powers car. It's a 3-cylinder vehicle that tops out in the 100 mph range that gets 41 mpg.

I'm not sure they actually can do 100 mph unless it's downhill down wind. I also know that even though it comes standard with air-bags it really doesn't matter, a head-on collision even with a 10-Speed will likely crush you to death inside this little casket on wheels.

Right. The whole point is that it cuts emissions. Electric cars don't cut emissions 100% either as fossil fuels need to be burned to charge them.

If I were going to do it though, I would buy electric. No worries about price wars, oil spills, tanking dollar, inflation, etc.
