Astute thinking CB! You probably don't know this but before major freeway (FLA's I75) was constructed, only road directly connecting Tampa to Miami was called Tamiami Trail. Tampa/Miami becomes TAM/IAMI. Honestly never gave it thought after moving here until was told by a neighbor.
