Fiver, if you think being familiar with QuickBooks may pop up again as a requirement for a job, you can always do what my friend did and buy QB for Dummies.

She was able to fake it well enough in interviews and when she finally got a job, it turned out she didn't even need to use it that much.

It's not a hard program to learn at all. I used it during my university co-op for 2 years and was fine. And I'm definitely not an accounting whiz by any means.

Call them tomorrow and ask them if its essential. Tell them if it is, you'd like to go take a class on it because that's how badly you want the job. Doesn't mean you actually have to. That's just the kind of stupid shit people that hire you want to hear.

Then you should call them. Even say that you went out and borrowed a copy of QuickBooks so you can practice at home to supplement the class.

Seriously, if you want this job - do it. If you don't, and you finally use QuickBooks for whatever reason in the future, you'll kick yourself for letting such a silly program stand in your way.
